How I teach Game Design in a semester.
If you're looking to have students design games, or even design games yourself (you SHOULD), I think this PowerPoint should help. I presented this at GenCon's Trade Day in 2015, and this will walk you through the semester in terms of how long the various components take, as well as my rationale and models I follow.
